Thursday May 5

I am very disappointed in the attitude many of my Grade 7 students have been showing towards school. You seem to be abusing the privileges that I have provided you so far this year such as opportunities for discussions, group work, and choice in where you sit. The reason I try to provide you with choices and opportunities to show your learning in a way that you find interesting is to hopefully take the emphasis away from marks and more towards learning. However, with freedom comes responsibility and many of you seem to be struggling with this. You have become disrespectful to your peers when they are presenting or sharing in the class. You have also struggled with being prepared for class and using your class time effectively. I try to provide as much time as possible for my students to work at school because I understand how busy you are with other classes and events outside of school. Yet, I continue to be amazed by the number of students that do not complete their assignments on time or at a level they are capable of. Please think about this and the effective that your behaviour is having on your learning and the learning of your peers.

7-01 & 7-07

  • Because of class disruptions we have not been able to finish all of the presentations in all of the classes. We will finish the rest tomorrow and then you will be given some time to continue working on your short stories. Remember the deadline.

9-29

  • You continue to impress me with your Dragons’ Den projects. Keep up the awesome work.
