- You will need the second draft for your short story printed off for tomorrow’s class because you will be given time to proofread and edit your work. You will be handing in your first draft by the end of the day tomorrow so that I can assess it and give it back to you for feedback. You were given at least 70 minutes of class time to type up your second draft. The average typing speed is 19 words a minutes when composing or coming up with original ideas, which you were not being asked to do, and more then double that for transcription, or copying out work. So if the average typing speed in our class was 10 words a minute then you should have been able to type up a story of at least 700 words. Just something to think about.
