- Here are the basic outline for the project that I shared with you today. I asked for some feedback and nothing was given so this is what we will be going with. Keep track of the due dates.
- Project
- Read a novel and adapt, convert, and condense it to turn it into a story designed for a younger audience (Grade 4,5 – Short novels)
- Story will be between 750 and 2000 words (Roughly 3 – 8 pages)
- You will use images that you create (cannot just copy and paste / trace) to help explain the important elements of the story
- You will be submitting a digital copy of the text (images not needed)
- Assessment – Going to be looking at
- Reading Comprehension – did you understand the story and were you able to adapt, convert, and condense it
- Elements of plot are demonstrated
- Characters are well developed
- Setting is evident
- Designed for audience
- Quality of the writing
- All notes, planning/outline, and drafts are completed.

- There are only three classes left before the end of the term, Tuesday, January 22, Friday, January 25, and Wednesday, January 30. It is important that you keep up with your work as by the end of the term you should have finished two projects. This means two sets of planning/design, documentations of two creations, and appraisals and articulations for both as well.
- For those of you doing the obstacle course challenge, we will do a trial run on Friday, January 25.
