I will be away from October 16 to the 23. I will be back at school on Friday October 24. Mrs. Gail Langley will be in for me during this time. She was a teacher at Louis Riel at the Grade 5/6 level and retired last year. She is a great lady and knows many of the students. If you have any questions and concerns feel free to email me and I will try my best to check and respond; however, I can not guarantee that I will have access to a computer or the ability to respond.
7-1
- Make sure that you are keeping up on all of your work. Many of you have caught up but many of you are still behind. Please take a look at your marks to see what you are missing or what you can redo so that you can improve your mark. Remember, we are looking for mastery of concepts and topics not just a basic understanding of them.
- Quiz 2 marks are updated.
- Number Sense Scavenger Hunt Project is due on Monday October 20. I will try to upload the file tomorrow from school. You were given this on Thursday October 9 so you have plenty of time to get it finished. I am doing this project instead of a final unit exam as it allows you to show me what you know in a more comfortable way.
7-2
- Marks are now updated for Our Home and Native Land Project map.
- We are continuing Wolf Brother by Michelle Paver as a read aloud book during our reading workshops and the students are using the remaining time, approximately 30 minutes, to read a book of their choosing. Reading workshops occur on Mondays and Wednesdays. Please remember that you should be reading 20 minutes a night at home. This can be anything that you would like from textbooks to comic books.
- We have begun to write memoirs and have been looking at how to brainstorm ideas for our writing.
Web Design
- Many of you are falling behind. We will try my best to mark Assignment #1 & #2 tomorrow so that you can see how well you are doing.
- If you have not yet handed in your Web Site Planning assignment then please get it in so that you can start designing your site.
- Make sure to ask me or other students in the class for help so that we are all able to learn together.
