Wednesday Dec 10

7-1

  • Tomorrow will be your last class to work on your Forces Poster. By this time you will have had over three full periods of class time to complete it. It is due on Monday December 15.

7-2

  • If you have not handed in your memoir yet it is now two days late. It is important that your second draft is finished for tomorrow because we will be working on improving them further.

Tuesday Dec 9

7-1

  • Think about how you can make your Forces Poster stand out from the rest and be unique.
  • Finish the first column and half of the second column on the subtracting integers sheet.

7-2

  • I am very disappointed by the number of students that did not have the second draft of their memoirs finished for today. This is after providing at least three full classes of time to finish them. You need to understand that every time that you do not finish an assignment on time that it holds back the rest of the class. We can no longer let this happen and we will start moving ahead without you if we need to so that the rest of the class does not suffer.
  • Reading Response Journal entry is due tomorrow.

Video Production

  • Your Short Movie Script needs to be finished by the end of the class on Thursday so that we can start planning out our movies. We would like to start filming as soon as we get back from the winter break.

Monday Dec 8

7-1

  • Think about which CRUSH IT structure worked the best and why? How would you make yours different.
  • Continue planning your forces poster

7-2

  • Reading Response Journal is due on Wednesday Dec 10
  • Second draft of your memoir is due tomorrow. It must be finished because we are going to be doing something else with it.

Sunday Dec 7

Humanities 7-2, and Science and Math 7-1 marks have been updated to reflect student progress so far in term two. There are numerous students who are still failing to hand in their assignments and as a result they are curerntly receiving an NR. It is important that they check their marks to find out what they are missing or what they can or should redo.

Remember that you may redo almost all of the assignments / projects that we do. This has been true since the beginning of the year though most students are not taking this opportunity to improve on their work.

I will likely be sending home marks at the end of this week or beginning of next week to ensure that parents are aware of student progress.

I hope that everyone has had a wonderful weekend and is prepared for the snow.

Cheers,

Mr. Lang

Thursday Dec 4

7-1

  • Please make sure that you have both sides of the Adding Three Integers sheet done for tomorrow because we will be marking it in class.
  • Remember that you have an adding integers quiz on Monday Dec 8 and that you need to be able to show how to add integers on a number line as well as by using tiles.
  • Your CRUSH IT experiment is due on Monday Dec 8 because we will be tyring to crush them in class. Remember that your structure had to be at least 15 cm high and be able to support itself without you touching it.

7-2

  • As a result of a Foods Option field trip we have postponed the First Nations Jigsaw Quiz until tomorrow Friday Dec 5
  • Your second draft of your memoir, a copy with corrections made, is due on Tuesday December 9. We want this copy written out by hand. Therefore, please make sure that you do not do it on the computer because there are different skills involved.
  • Your final reading response journal entry of this year is due on Wednesday Dec 10.

7-1 – Adding Integers Quiz

On Monday December 8 you will have a quiz on adding integers. You will be expected to show how you add integers using tiles and on a number line. Make sure that if you do not understand how to do this that you will come and ask for help before the quiz on Monday.

7-2 – Reading Response Journal

Your next reading response journal is due on Wednesday December 10. This will be the last one we will be doing before the winter break. The next one will be due on Wednesday January 14. Please make sure that you find time to read over the winter break.

7-2 – First Nation Jigsaw Quiz

First Nations Jigsaw project quiz on Thursday December  4. This quiz will be open book as you will be allowed to use all of the notes that you have to help you with this. That being said, this may be easy for some of you and very difficult for others depending on how hard you worked and how well you listened.
