Wednesday November 5

Mr. Bud McLean, a World War II Veteran, will be speaking to 7-1 & 7-2 tomorrow during the third period. Please make sure to be on your best behaviour and that if you have a question for him that you please respect his privacy and that some topics may be sensitive to him.

7-2

  • Make sure to get the questions finished that you were working on with your home group for the First Nations Jigsaw Project. You should be finished tomorrow because we will be moving into our expert groups to work on the second part of the project.

7-1 – Bean Plant Lab Report

Bean Plant Lab Report is due today. This should not be a problem to get done because we worked together in class on the purpose, hypothesis, materials, and procedure. All you have to do is organize and add all of the data that you collected from your bean plant and write a conclusion. If you have questions make sure to ask before Wednesday.

Tuesday November 4

Marks have been updated so please take a look to see if you are all caught up on your assignments. Remember the mark deadline is soon approaching.

7-2

  • I sent home a student marks and missing assignment sheet today. I asked that those students who are receiving a D or and NR (which is essentially a fail), in the class to have it signed and returned by Thursday. My hope was to have the students that are missing assignments complete them so that they can improve their mark. I must stress that everyone should be receiving at least a C in the classes if they have handed in and completed all of their work at an adequate level.

7-1 – Math Quiz

There will be a math quiz today covering the following topics: mean, median, mode, range, stem and leaf plots, and pictographs. Please make sure you look over you notes and your work to ensure that you understand these things. If you do not then it is your responsibility to come and get help.

Monday November 3

Both 7-1 & 7-2 Humanities classes will be having Mr. Bud McLean, a World War II veteran, coming to talk to the students about his experiences during the war. This will be happening on Thursday November 6 during the third period. We will be talking to the students about respect so that they will be compassionate and understanding when asking Mr. McLean questions regarding his experiences. Mr. McLean’s presentation fits in well with both the Social Studies, Canada: Post Confederation, and Language Arts, speaking, personal writing, and memoirs.

Web Design

  • Your first website will be due this Friday. It must be inside of your folder on the Storage drive under Options, Web Design, and then your name, in order for me to be able to mark it. If you do not complete it by this date then I will be unable to mark it for it to be able to appear on the first report card and thus your mark will be very low. You have Wednesday’s class and Friday’s class to complete it.
