Robotics 8A

  • We raced our robots, and there was some tough competition. We followed this with a discussion about design since we all started with the same program.
  • I forgot to remind the class, but please complete a reflection on the fastest robot, for next class. In your reflection please think about what you think your group did well, what it needs to work on, and also reflect on your design. What worked, and what didn’t work? What would you do differently next time.
  • We have since moved on from here as we began building a new robot so that we can work through some basic skills.

Robotics 8B

  • We began working on the duplicate project in which you are trying to make a 3D copy of an item that your brought in. You are probably finding that it is much more difficult than you thought it would be. I promise that this will get easier with practice as you fine tune your skills. You will have another double period to work on this but you may want to do some work at home as well.
  • You can also download Sketchup at home for free on both MAC and PC computers so that you can work on it there as well.

Robotics 8C

  • Today students began working on learning some basic HTML programming through the CodeCademy website. Remember if you would like to signup you can do so using your CBE Google Account. Next class you will be given an assessment on the first 5 tutorials and I informed you that it would be on theory (the stuff you had to read) and the application of skills (the stuff you had to do).
  • I also showed you Hackasaurus which is a site that allows you to change the code on a website. Remember that these changes only show up for you and do not actually change the site.

Robotics 9

  • Most groups are now working on just finishing up the last sensor test. We have now started to work on our Sumobots or Obstacle Course bots.
