March 14, 17, & 18

Please make sure that you are checking your assessments on HomeLogic to ensure that you know exactly how you are doing and what you have or have not handed in.

Robotics 8A

  • We continued working on our Scratch assignments. Reminder that they are due by the end of Thursday, March 20.
  • Choice 1 (Part A)– Complete the “All About Me” introductory Scratch assignment. You will only have one more class to work on this. The purpose of this is to have you start figuring out some of the tools. Below are the criteria for this.
    • At least 3 things about yourself
    • At least one clickable thing
    • An image of yourself
    • At least one movement
    • At least one custom sprite or background
    • At least one sound
    • Another way of interacting with your presentation
  • Choice 1 (Part B) – Create a story / animation that uses an “If Then Statement” a sensing block, and some advanced motion and looks blocks.
  • Choice 2 – Create a game or a useful tool. This will be a final project and therefore needs to reflect this effort. Please make sure to impress me with your skills.

Robotics 8B

  • We continued working on the individual projects though I believe that most of you have decided to participate in the robot battle. Remember that you will have about an hour to work on this on Thursday before we show off what we have done.

Robotics 8C

  • Continued to work on our final project. Please see the post from last class for more information. You will have class on Monday, March 30 to work on this and it is due on Tuesday, April 1.

Robotics 9A & 9C

  • We wrote our HTML assessment today and based on the feedback most of you seemed fairly confident with how you did. Remember that if you know you struggled on a section go back and figure out how to do it or come and talk to me so that I can help you.
  • We began working on some skills related to programming the robot and using sensors.

Robotics 9B

  • As the Grade 9 students viewed the play today we did not get as much done as we wished. We wrote the HTML assessment and talked about where we were going next.
