Have a wonderful, safe, and relaxing Spring Break. Please make sure to check to see if you are missing anything from this term as this might be a good time to get caught. As a forewarning, I will be doing very little homework (ie. marking, planning, and updating) over Spring Break because I am getting married on March 30, and also finishing one of my Master’s Program classes. I am sure you will all understand if it takes me a bit longer to get your work assessed and back to you.

  • Please think about the Trial of Hernan Cortes. You shouldn’t have any work to do over the Spring Break unless you are behind, or want to get ahead on your next Reading Response.

9-27

  • You should not have anything to do over Spring Break unless you would like to get ahead on your next Reading Response.

  • I hope that everyone was able to get their Aztec Codex and/or Conquistador Compass in because it was due yesterday.
  • Today we watched a video on the interactions between Hernan Cortes, a Spanish Conquistador, and Montezuma, the Aztec ruler. Try to think about this because the activity we begin looking at tomorrow will be dealing with the result of the meeting of the two groups.
  • First Reading Response is due today by midnight. Remember that you should be posting on KidBlog or by using the CBE version of GoogleDrive.

9-27

  • Your immigration project is due tomorrow regardless if which one and the approach that you took. You will be given both periods tomorrow to work on this. Remember that this is the due date that you selected.

  • You will be given a double period tomorrow to finish your Codex and Compass project. There were a few of you that spoke to me about getting some extra time but I still feel as though the time given should have been sufficient.

  • I am impressed so far with the creativity that I have seen from your projects. I encourage you to make sure that you are following the instructions and if you have questions please ask. The end of the week is coming quickly.

  • I am no longer accepting assignments from the second term as you have had plenty of time to check your online marks and get caught up if you were behind.

  • Continue working on the Codex and Compass project. The next section is due on Tuesday, March 19.
  • Still missing a number of Life Skills Human Sexuality forms.

  • Still missing a number of Reading Response entries as they were due yesterday.
  • The class has decided that the due date for the immigration project is Thursday, February 21 the last day before Spring Break. However, if you as individuals are not using the time that is being given to you then you and your group will be given an earlier date as this is only fair.

Robotics 9

  • We continued working to create a game using Scratch. You are all at different levels which is fine I am just asking you to trouble should and try to create something. If you had already done this or didn’t want to then I asked you to create something useful for students. To share this you were to upload it to the Scratch website with username and password provided in class. Please have this done by next class. Robotics 9

  • Remember that you can download Scratch for free on both PC and Mac computers. I was impressed by what some of you were doing and what you were putting together. Some very cool stuff. You will be submitting your work to me so that we can figure out if anything needs work before we start using the Mindstorms.

  • Life Skills – Human Sexuality forms are due tomorrow, Friday, March 8. You have had the entire week to get them in.
  • Went over some ideas on how you can approach your Reading Responses. First one is due on Wednesday, March 20.
  • We spent the rest of the time working on the Codex and Compass project. The class asked to have two due dates. Therefore, your first due date is Wednesday, March 13. On this day you will be handing in one of the parts. It is up to you to decide which one you will be handing in on this day. The other part will then be due on Tuesday, March 19.

  • Went over some ideas on how you can approach your Reading Responses. First one is due on Wednesday, March 13.
  • Continue to work on and plan your Immigration Project. As discussed we will figure out a due date once we get more in to the project.
  • Take a look at your online marks as it should be mostly updated.
