Friday October 19

8-23

  • So far I have been impressed by the quality of your Middle Ages presentations. However, I am not sure if all of you have handed in your work even though I was very clear about it being handed in yesterday, and then gave further reminders today. We will finish presentations on Monday.
  • Make sure to complete your work log for your Science project each day as it is also a Humanities project.

9-27

  • Complete your Heart Map for Monday. Questions to help mine your heart… What has stayed in your heart? What memories, moments, people, animals, objects, places, books, fears, scars, friends, siblings, parents, grandparents, teachers, other people, journeys, secrets, dreams, crushes, relationships, comforts, learning experiences? What is in the center? The edges? What’s in your heart?
  • Continue to work on writing or revising your poems. I have given you some class time but will be giving you more. The expectation is that you write poems as we will be using your work for a summative assignment.
  • The Captain Canuck project is due on Monday October 29.

Thursday October 18

8-23

  • We will finish off the Middle Ages presentations tomorrow.
  • Those of you that have still not handed in the breakfast club letter to your parents please get this in to me as we start this next week

9-27

  • I was incredibly impressed by the willingness of some of you to share your experiences being a bully, being bullied, and also observing bullying. I am proud of you for taking a risk and being somewhat vulnerable.
  • Continue to work on the Captain Canuck project. I will tell you a due date tomorrow, so if I don’t please remind me
  • Remember your novels for tomorrow.
  • I thought I would put this note on there so you can show your parents if they are freaking out about your score on the poetry quiz. Remember that I gave you no warning and I also did not teach you about the majority of what was tested. The reason I did this was to see what you did know so that I would know what I did and did not have to teach. Your mark is only there to serve as a reminder and for you to remember to take this class seriously.

  • Continue to work on your Middle Ages project. At this point I think that you should be just finishing, if not finished your research and that you should be starting to plan out your presentation. Please make sure to check your rubric and the assignment sheet that was handed out to ensure that you are doing everything that is requested of you. As decided by the class, presentations will be on Thursday, October 18.
