  • Continue working on Task 4 of the Greatest Canadian project. Please make sure to read over what you are being asked to do as I feel as though many of you have skipped a number of the required steps.

8-04

  • Reading response is due tomorrow, Wednesday February 29.
  • You will be given no more than 10 minutes to finalize and rehearse your skit if you have not already done so.
  • Please make sure to check and read the comments that have been posted in the online marks with regards to the time line project. I was very impressed by the over all quality of work that was presented. There are a number of you that made some strong connections and showed them in a clear way.

  • You should be now working on Task 4 of the Greatest Canadian Project. Since so many of you were wanting to do the same person as your nominee for this I have suggested that some of you maybe try someone else from your list of the top 10.
  • Reminder that your reading response is due on Wednesday March 7.

8-04

  • I will have the marks for the timeline project up by 5:30 tonight. I am still working on the essays and hope to have them done later this week. Thank you for being patient. It takes a while for me to go through each one of them.
  • Virtual Field Trip – Task 1 – Skit will be on Wednesday February 29 now as many of you were working on putting it together today and seemed as though you needed a bit more time. Please be ready to present on Wednesday. Check how you are getting assessed which means that you need to read the hand out.
  • Reading Response is due Wednesday February 29
  • Please remember to have your novel tomorrow.

  • Awesome job today working on the “Greatest Canadian.” Try and have some basic information about at least six of the ten people that you have selected for tomorrow.
  • Next Reading Response is due on Wednesday March 7.

  • I would like to start by saying how impressed I was but the quality of work that many of you showed on your timeline project. Looks like many of you took the time to think about what you were doing before you started. Keep up the great work.
  • You should be close to finishing your background research on the Age of Exploration and Columbus for tomorrows class. This way you can spend tomorrow’s class and time on Monday working on the script for your skit. You will be presenting your skits on Tuesday Feb 28.
  • Next Reading Response is due on Wednesday Feb 29.

  • Please come prepared tomorrow with your list of the 10 Greatest Canadians. I also ask that you write the few sentences for each person. Remember to read the instructions on the handout.
  • It was great to see that we have already had four students receive responses from their letters. I hope that we get more soon.

8-04

  • Tomorrow is Thursday and like the majority of the Thursdays since the beginning of the year please have your narrative piece of writing (novel) to read.
  • We began the Virtual Field Trip from Spain to Mexico project. You should have been able to do the background research on the “Age of Exploration” during class time today.

I have decided to put classroom jobs into place as many students are not taking responsibility for looking after their own items, the items that belong to the school, and my own items that are in the classroom. We will see how this goes even though it is a bit of a revert back to elementary school.

  • Hopefully you have started to think about all of the amazing and great Canadians. Please try and have the basic research done about two on the list that you do not know much about. Tomorrow we are going to try and narrow down your list.

  • Timeline due date has been changed to Thursday February 23 as many of you are behind even though you shouldn’t be. Thank you for taking the time to think about this project.

I have updated all of the marks. This includes the Stamp project for 7-01 and the textbook questions for 8-04. I am still working on the letters for 7-01 and will do my best to get them finished by the end of this week. Thank you for your patience as I work to try and get caught up on my marking and planning.
