Marks have been updated to reflect all work handed in as of noon today.

  • I was rather disappointed by the number of you that did not have your short stories proofread and edited for today’s class. You will have Thursday’s class to also type them up but it is expected that a copy be typed off and printed for class on Tuesday March 23 because we will be doing the next step. It is very important that all of you keep up with this as the assignment is due prior to Spring Break.

  • I will provide you with at least one more period of class time to work on your Edo and Meiji Period Time Lines. Some of you may want to bring this home to get some work done on it there as well.

  • Reading response journal entry is due this Wednesday March 17. Look at the workshops that we have done to help you write your response. Also think about the workshops that we did around “The Gruffalo” to try and figure out other things that you could write about in your response besides the plot.

  • Continue thinking about and planning your Edo and Meiji Period time lines. I will give you more class time tomorrow to work on these.
  • Some of you are missing many assignments already. Please check your marks online to see how you are doing and what if anything you are missing.

Sunday March 14 – News

  • I have updated the marks for everything that has been handed in as of 4:40 on Friday March 12. Please check your marks on a regular basis to ensure that I have not made any mistakes and so that you know how you are doing, and what if anything you are struggling with or missing.

Marks Updated

Please find most marks updated. I have finished marking everything except for 8 Chalets Reading Response Journals. I will try to get those done by tomorrow night so they will be updated for the weekend. It is important that everyone checks to see if they are missing any assignments as some of you have not started of this term very strong.

Please come and talk to me if you would like some help with anything or if you have any questions or concerns about your marks. Remember that even though I try to run a relaxed easy going class and give many of you a fair amount of freedom I still have high expectations. Make sure that you are taking responsibility for your learning.

Cheers,

Mr. Lang

Wednesday March 10

I will try and get a bunch of marking done this evening so that your marks are more current. However, please understand that when some of you hand in assignments late or incomplete it makes marking much harder for me to do.

7-13

  • Please try to read the books from our classroom library in a month or less so that others can have a chance to read the more popular titles as well. Also, I would like to see less books being left in the class as this tells me that you are not bothering to read them at home which means that others will have to wait longer to read the same book.
  • Come prepared tomorrow to film as two groups were not ready today which means an entire period wasted.
