Term 2 ends on Thursday January 28 as there is no school on Friday January 29 because of an Organizational Day. Make sure that you look at your marks and hand in any outstanding work as I will not accept it past this Thursday.

7-13

  • Make sure that you are handing in assignments when they are due as many of you did not hand in your Story Boards today as I had asked. Also, your scripts were due today because we are now on the next step of the project. Please remember to work with other members in your group.
  • Come prepared tomorrow to write as we are going to continue working on our short stories

  • We will continue working on the leads to your short stories tomorrow so please come prepared with all required materials.
  • Tomorrow will be the last class time given to work on your scripts as we are going to start working on our prop, costume, and setting sketches on Friday. Your scripts are due on Monday January 25 along with your story boards.

  • We are going to continue working on the research for your essays though tomorrow will likely be the last time that I provide you class time to do research. After this point it will be expected that you complete the rest of the research on your own time as we are going to start planning and organizing our information so that we can begin writing our essay.
  • Aztec Codex is due on Tuesday January 26. The last class time that will be given to do this is tomorrow Thursday January 21.

This of course can be backed with evidence from the story or your life. Make sure to read the comments I have left on your response so that you can improve. You can now also see the comments that I have left for you by logging into your marks.

7-13 & 7-16 – Documentary Story Boards

Your Canadian Documentary Story Boards are due on Monday January 18. Remember that as a group you need to have covered all of your topic questions, biographies, as well as the extra information in your story boards. The story boards are basically rough copies of your script and they help in having you plan what will happen in your documentary and how everything will look. Work with group if you are having troubles figuring out how to turn your notes into something that people will learn from and will enjoy watching.

Sunday Jan 17 – Marks Updated

Marks have been updated for everything that was handed in as of Friday January 15. I am disappointed by the number of students that are missing assignments or that are handing in assignments late. I try to provide ample class time to allow you to finish your work; however, I feel that some of you are taking advantage of the lax nature of the classroom setup. Unless I start seeing some improvement from a large number of you then I have no choice but to revert back to how things used to be and to decrease the the amount of discussion I allow in the classroom.

Having said that, I am very pleased with how a number of you have really come around this last term and have been working very hard since the Winter Break to improve your grades. Remember I am available most morning and most days after school to help any of you if you need it regardless of what subject it is in.

Remember that the end of the term is soon approaching as the last day that I will be collecting marks is Thursday June 28.

  • Make sure that your story boards for your portion of the documentary are finished for Monday January 18 as we are going to start working on our scripts and we only have the computers for so many days.
  • Remember to have your novel in class on Monday
  • For Tuesday January 19 you need to have the “9” plot chart completed as well as your own plot chart for your short story and your character sketch.
