Happy Thanksgiving

I hope that you are all enjoying your five day weekend with your friends, families, and loved ones. Make sure to get some rest and relax as life can some times catch up to you even when you are at school. I encourage all of you to think about things that you should be thankful for over this break and let someone know that they have made a difference to you.

See you all back on Wednesday October 14.

Cheers,

Mr. Lang

  • We will continue the rest of our presentations tomorrow. Please remember to be ready and that means starting right away not taking five minutes to get things set up. If you have done something on the computer then either put it on a memory stick, which I would recommend everyone buy, or else use your D2L locker.

8-CHA – Middle Ages Project

Date has been changed to Wednesday Oct 7 based on student need.

We will begin presenting the Middle Ages Projects on Tuesday Oct 6. Remember to read over the assignment handout and rubric so that you are aware of how you will be assessed. Please make sure to ask for help or clarification if you aren’t sure what direction to go, if something does not make sense, or you just don’t know what to do.

Please make sure that you are keeping track of where you are based on the time line that I have given you so that you are not falling behind. This was an involved assignment but utilizing your class time you should not have any trouble getting it done on time.

8-CHA – Reading Response Journal

Your second reading response journal entry is due on Wednesday October 7. You will be writing an entry every two weeks, and always due on Wednesday.

You will not be given any class time to complete these and it is expected that they are completed on time as I try to mark them as soon as possible.

Remember that I am not interested in hearing about the story as I can read it myself. I would like you to talk about your opinoins of the story. This of course can be backed with evidence from the story or your life. Make sure to read the comments I have left on your first response so that you can improve.

Please refer to your Reading & Writing Workshop duo-tang for further information on how to approach your Reading Response Journal. If you need help please come and see me well before the due date so that there is time for me to talk things over with you.
