  • Measurement Math Quiz on Monday May 4. You need to know everything that you learnt at the four centres. If you are not sure about something please ask. Make sure that you had in our centres worksheets by Friday.
  • Teacher for a Day Planet Earth project is due on Monday May 4. Please make sure that you let me know by Friday if you are requiring any supplies because I will need time to get them for you for Monday. Remember that you need to have information about your topic, a hands on activity, and some kind of worksheet that the students can show their learning from.
  • We will be starting your Planet Earth Centres on Tuesday May 5.

  • You have all been working very hard on your Passionate Poetic Perspective projects. It has been great to see and we are impressed by the quality of work that you are producing. Remember that we will be show casing your work on Monday May 4 so please makes sure that you are ready to go.

7-1 – Algebra Quiz

On Monday April 20 you will be given the algebra quiz. On the quiz you will be required to know the following:

  • Convert words into math expressions
  • Convert math expressions into words
  • Patterns
  • Solving one and two step equations
  • Substitution
  • Show understanding of algebra using tiles and marbles

If you do not understand a concept then it is your responsibility to come and get help

  • The rest of the Archineer’s Den presentations will take place tomorrow. If you have not gone yet then make sure you are ready tomorrow because you have had an extra two days to prepare.
  • Finish up to or around question 9 on the Two Step Equation algebra sheet.
  • Algebra quiz will be on Monday April 20.

There are many books that are missing from our classroom library that have not been signed out and that are not currently in the class. Can everyone please take a look at home to see if you have any of the books. They should all have a Call # Tag on the spine, LANG written on the part of the book that opens, and Mr. Lang written at the beginning and or end of the book. If you see any books at home with any of those markings can you please make sure that they make it back to the class ASAP so that others may also enjoy them.

  • The rest of the Archineer’s Den presentations will take place tomorrow as we did not have enough time. Make sue that you know your stuff at that you are able to talk about it because the judges are not taking it easy on you.
  • Please finish the few one step algebra equations that you were given for tomorrow.

  • Today was the last day to work on your documentaries as we will begin watching them during tomorrow’s class.
  • Make sure that you hand in your documentary hand out, study guide, study guide answers, quiz, and quiz answers because we are going to be making viewing packages for all of you.
  • Start collecting all of the poems that you have written so that you can be improving them in class and so that they will be ready for our poetry project that we will be starting later this week or early next week.

Web Design

  • Try to get a handle on using division layers and tables to help you format the layout of your website.

7-1 – Archineer’s Den – Part 2

Part two, the building, should be finished for Friday April 10 even if we do not have school that day. If it is not finished then this means that you are likely behind in your work. You will be presenting to the judges beginning Tuesday April 14 so it is very important that you keep up especially if you want to win the prize money.

  • All Archineer’s Den projects must be ready to go on Tuesday when you return from Easter Break as we will begin presenting. I have recruited a number of judges and by the looks of it the competition is heating up. There have been some further donations and as a result it looks like our prize money could be over $100 so make sure that your presentation is excellent.

7-2

  • You will be given one more period next week to finish up your projects and after that you will have to use your own time.
  • Keep up the great work as we are really impressed with what you have been doing in Language Arts and in Social Studies.
