Not only is it Friday the 13th but Report Cards were also given out today. Please make sure that you read the comments and if you are not sure why something was written or disagree with them then go talk to your teachers. This is also true for your marks.

Parent Teacher Interviews are on Thursday March 19 and Friday March 20. If you cannot get in to see one of the teachers then please feel free to contact us and we can arrange another time.

Remember to bring your bag lunch tomorrow if you are going on the field trip to Vertigo Theatre to see the Art of Murder as we will be eating before we go and we will not be returning until around 3:00.

  • Please finish all of your Decimal quiz corrections. This should not require that much work seeing as how we went over all of the questions in class.

Video Production

  • I am a bit worried since we should be finished filming already and many of you have not yet begun filming. Please make sure that you take your options seriously as they do affect your overall grade.

I am having issues loading the homework portion of my website at school and as such it is difficult for me to update it daily. If I am not able to do so at school then I try my best to remember when I get home. I apologize for the inconvenience.

There have been a few students that are having difficulties with their marks on the website. For some reason some of your marks are not being updated. Please make sure to check the date on the file when it opens with your marks to see if it is current. If it is not current then please let me know so that I can look into it for you.

  • I am still concerned that not enough of you are coming to get help when you do not understand something.

  • Please make sure that you are finding time to read at home. It is awesome to see so many of you into reading now and finding things that you enjoy reading.
  • Next reading response journal entry is not due until next week.
  • Remember to bring all of your required materials to school for your documentaries.

7-1 – Decimal Math Quiz

You will have a decimal math quiz on Monday March 9. The quiz will include rounding decimals, ordering decimals, adding decimals, subtracting decimals, multiplying decimals, and dividing decimals.   • Make sure that you ask for help if you do not understand something. Too many of you are just trying to float by. Remember to always read through the instructions thoroughly.

7-2

  • Next Reading Response Journal is due on Wednesday March 18. This is three weeks from your last one but because of interruptions and changes in our schedule we thought it would make more sense to give you an extra week.

Web Design

  • You need to finish Assignment #1 and #2 and have them handed in last week. You should now be working on your first website.

7-2 – Reading Response Journal

The next Reading Response Journal is due on Wednesday February 25.

In order to improve on your work please look at the example that is glued into your journal and also look at some of the sentence starter suggestions included too.

When we mark your response we are looking to see if you wrote about your feelings, thoughts, and ideas regarding what you have read. We are looking to see if you explained these feelings, thoughts, and ideas in detail and that you have provided some connection to your book and/or your life.

If you are still unsure on how to improve your work please talk to Mrs. Sutherland and I and we will do what we can to help you get your work to that next level.

7-1 – Heat and Temperature Project

Please make sure that you look over and read all of the instructions in the project. There are no excuses for not understanding what is expected as we spent a great deal of time going over it in class. You were given roughly four hours of library time to work on the “Investigating” section of the project. You will also be given numerous classes to work on Part 2 – Research, as well as the presentation part of the project. Make sure that your presentation is interesting, unique, and that you cover all of the information that is required.

  • A reminder that the due date for your heat and temperature project was extended from Tuesday until Wednesday as we spent one period last week discussing Science questions that you had. Your presentation needs to be ready to go for Wednesday as this is the only class that will be given for this. Make sure that you bring your project sheet/rubric, the investigating section, as well as the research portion as it will all be marked together.
  • Please hand in any math assignments or projects that are outstanding.

  • Remember that this weeks Reading Response Journal can be substituted with the book review. Please make sure that you have your book review handed in by Wednesday if you are wanting it to count for this weeks Reading Response Journal entry.
  • Continue working on designing and building/creating your props, costumes, and sketches as we would like this to be finished by mid next week.

Video Production

  • Finish all of your character and background sketches for your Children’s Book Adaptation project by the end of class on Friday February 27 as we will begin filming next week.
