This is to be prepared for the day that you present (7-01 – Friday June 22, 7-07 – Monday June 25). Please either hand in hard copies (printed off) or a memory stick with your work on it. You must be ready for your presentation as you have a limit about of time to present to and impress the representatives of the Board of Directors.

  • You have been provided with some terms that you should be reviewing for your LA test on Tuesday June 26. I have suggested that you create a picture dictionary to help you with this; however, select the technique that works the best for you.

Friday June 8 – Early Birthday Wishes

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone for the one month early birthday wishes, especially 7-01, and most especially Emily who organized it. I was very surprised and very honoured. The last time my birthday was celebrated at school was in Kindergarten and it was for all of the students who have birthdays over the summer. Thank you very much everyone as it is something I won’t foget.

Thursday June 7

I have been very impressed by the conversations and ideas that have been generated by both the Grade 7 and 8 end of the year projects. Remember to use the Long Range Calendar and the Daily Work Logs to help you keep up with your work. Look to the project handout, checklists, and rubrics to help you to do the best work possible.

Scholastic Book Orders are due on Monday June 11

  • I would recommend being done your basic Social Studies research by tomorrow so that you can start focusing on the different elements of the project. You may find that you need to do some extra research as you progress through the project. Click here for a copy of the project.
  • Field trip forms are due tomorrow.
8-04
  • Remember that your Character Analysis is due by the end of the day tomorrow. However, I would recommend using that time to work on your group portion of the book review / plot outline / word list so that you are able to finish it by the end of the day on Tuesday June 12.
  • Social Studies end of the year project is due on Monday June 18 as you will be presenting your work that day. Click here for a copy of the project.

  • Today was the last scheduled time for you to do research on the end of the year project as this is Day 4 in the process. Please make sure that you are keeping up with your work. If you would like to go to the Learning Commons during class time please just ask. I will also have laptops in the classroom so that you can work on whatever stage of the project that you need to.

Tuesday June 5

June Scholastic book orders are due on Monday June 11 as I would like to put the orders in so that the books come in before the end of the year.

7-01

  • You should continue to do research on your topic/theme for the end of the year project. The hope was that you would start Thursday, the day that you get the rest of project, with a bunch of information to help you along your way. Remember that starting Thursday you will have 10 days worth of class time and you will be working on the project during Math, Science, and Humanities. This means that you will have 40 periods of class time which should be enough. You will likely need to do work at home so that you do not fall behind. You will be presenting to the Board of Directors for Heritage Park on Friday June 22 and Monday June 25.
  • Remember your field trip forms because they are due this Friday, June 8.

8-04
