  • We have now finished Part 1 of your final project. You should now be working on Part 2 which is creating the artifact as well as the museum card. Remember to look over your research and come up with what the country or culture’s  current worldview is with respect the element(s) of worldview that you selected. This is the tricky part. Once you have completed this you can then brainstorm ideas on how to represent this/these element(s) of worldview in an artifact. Your project is due on Monday June 14.

Friday June 4

  • Make sure that your Passionate Poetic Perspective planning table is completed for Monday so that you can start working on the perspectives. The project is due on Monday June 14 as we will begin presentations that day. Everyone needs to be ready to go on this day as I will randomly select who will be presenting. If special arrangements need to be made because of items that you need to bring in for you project please let me know ahead of time.
  • You will have some more time to work on the research for your immigration project next week. Though I recommend that you do some of this work at home as you will still need to create the story and decide how you are going to present it.

I am asking that all books that have borrowed from my classroom library be returned as soon as possible so I can take inventory and find out what I have, what needs to be returned, and what is missing. I hope that everyone enjoyed the books that were in the class and that there was at least one story that inspired you to enjoy reading again. Any donations of books to the class library is also greatly appreciated.

Monday May 31

Only 14 school days left in the fourth term. Make sure that you are keeping up with all of your work and checking your marks on a regular basis to ensure you are caught up. I informed students today of missing assignments and reminded them of the importance of taking responsibility for their learning. To be honest it turned into  a bit of a lecture which I really don’t like; however, I guess that sometimes it may be necessary.

  • We will continue the research on our final project tomorrow. Remember that you must be researching about the country or culture with relationship to one or two of the elements of worldview.

Marks Updated

The marks have been updated. I will do my best to finish marking the Nisshi entries as well as the reading response entries over the weekend. I appreciate everyone’s patience in waiting for the marks to be updated. Please understand that this is a very busy time of the year so it make take me a bit longer to complete the marking especially once the Short Stories, Passionate Poetic Perspective Projects, and the final projects are completed. It would help me out if more of you were keeping up with deadlines and due dates and doing your best to use your class time to finish your work on time. Please check your marks on a regular basis to ensure that they are being entered correctly.
